Dear Emailer friends,
I still Use Claris eMailer to download mail from an aol account I have.
The main reason is that I am on several mailing lists with my aol address
and keep the emails filed by subject in the myriad folders I have set up.
I can't imagine the difficulty migrating all of this archived
information to another client.
On the computer on which I collect this email, I am running OSX 10.3.9,
and I had hoped to be able to continue this practice for the foreseeable
future until I figured out a solution for transferring all my mail
folders to some other Mail Application. I have been operating under the
philosophy of "if it's not broken, don't fix it."
However, recently emailer has not been able to download emails with
attachments. It downloads "regular" emails with no attachments just
fine. It stopped doing this about January 11 and I also noticed some
"missing attachments from time to time don't even appear in the Downloads
folder; they are "loose" in the Claris Emailer folder in which the
downloads folder resides. I receive an error message in the connection
log which says e.g.
" ** Connection timed out waiting for host
** The connection was broken while reading the message " Re:
[Gphiles] S. lilliputana: curled filaments". AOL has moved this
message to its "Read Mail" folder. You can use the AOL software to
retrieve this message."
I usually do this and am able to get the attachment, but it is getting
annoying.
Anyone know why this might be happening?
