Mario,

Not quite, the code that Artsoft benefited from came from
the version of EMC before EMC2. Also the closed source
nature of their software and its rapid evolution have 
resulted in code that is significantly different from the
EMC2 of today and which struggles to cope with the
inevitable bugs because only a couple of people can
work on the code.
