Still working on things, but now I know where all the pieces parts have come from and what is going on...
In the process of cleaning things up and playing with the configuration I found that my CPU (Intel T2330 dual-core) has the dreaded MP-BIOS bug (8254): timer not connected to IO-APIC. Looking on the net I did not see any magic solutions, but in various configurations I did not see this. What I found is that on this CPU (and likely others with this bug) that they ***requires*** Power Management to be turned on. I thought I would document this since it might come up in the future, and put it out on the net as a possible solution to the problem. Cheers, EBo -- ps: back to my scheduled linux-rtai reconfig -- searching for a solution. I'm just about to start writing extemp poetry out of frustration. Hmmm... that's almost fit for a haibun... .. banging on RTAI integration I keep having problems buttoning down the latency when I seem to looks all interrupts to the latency program *unless* there is another process hog running in another terminal. delicate spring-time raindrops drip, drip, silence, drip, drip, drip sometimes silence speaks louder than the monotonous drum reconfigure the kernel Now with the kernel reconfigured to remove... you get the idea <sigh> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Create and Deploy Rich Internet Apps outside the browser with Adobe(R)AIR(TM) software.
