Hi, I asked prices from Chinese suppliers and one seems quite interesting:
Incremental solid shaft encoder, shaft dia 6mm. 1000 pulses per rev, ABZ output. 5-12V VCC, open collector output. Price: USD 36. FOB Shanghai.
