I'd really advise you too look at kiosk-like setups. It's very simple:
 - install DWM window manager;
 - write .xsession script containing two lines: dwm & and exec emc 
path-to-config;
 - chmod +x it
 - place small XSession.desktop file into /usr/share/Xsession (see comment #12 
at [1])
 - select autologin option for desired user and select 'xsession script' session
 - enjoy :)
