Gentle persons:

I got tired early on around source code directories trying to figure out
how the V2.5 documentation build process takes place, so I assumed
others new to the process might too.

I have placed a new page on the wiki in which I try to give an overview
to the process.

What one now sees on the main wiki page is

* Contributing to formal EMC documentation:
     * EMC2 V2.4 BeyondWiki
     * EMC2 V2.5 BeyondWikiToo

BeyondWiki is Jeff's original page. BeyondWikiToo is my new page.

Please feel free to take shots at this work here and/or edit the wiki page.

Note: I generated the two images of the PDF and HTML toolchains using
Dia. That was a more of a learning process than I wanted. (It reminds me
of why I never liked using PowerPoint to make diagrams.) Nevertheless, I
got two very nice SVG files. Then I discovered the wiki engine doesn't
seem to know SVG (yes, I used .svg as the extension). It's been a lesson
in frustration trying to get equivalently nice PNG files that render
well on the wiki. I'm still at it so let me know what you don't like
about them.

Also, as fuel to the fire about the editability of SVG, Dia's export
translator, at least for Cairo, first defines a glyph for each character
in the image. Each glyph is defined as a sequence of strokes on a path,
ala the PostScript approach, and each glyph has an inscrutable id such
as "glyph0-1". The translator then places instances of the glyphs on
the canvas by reference. One sees absolutely nothing in the file that
says which character is represented by which glyph, or even that the
glyphs are representations of characters and not something else entirely.

Regards,
Kent
