Straying even farther off topic, what are you running on your BeagleBoard?

I wanted to keep things lightweight by using ArchLinuxARM but the
current distribution turns out to be too sensitive to uSD-card timing
issues. It won't even boot on my Rev A2 BeagleBoardXM unless I choose
just the right card. This problem has been discussed as far back as 2009
in various forums. So far as I can tell, no one has come up with an easy
method to determine which cards, even within a given brand and model,
will or won't work if the problem shows up at all.

Angstrom Linux, which I played with on my Insignia Infocast, and the
OMAP3 Natty Narwhal Ubuntu 11.04 server image both seem stable using any
uSD card at hand, just heavier than I wanted. Apparently whatever tricks
they play in their drivers and kernel configurations haven't propagated
to Arch Linux.

I'm not sure your assessment of Tk/Tcl is correct---already a decade
ago, my ace programmer turned out terrific interactive displays
including live dial gauges and temperature bars, moving 3D
representations of machine controls, etc., using an amalgam of Tk/Tcl
and VRML(!). Nevertheless, I wouldn't want to work in Tk/Tcl. It
requires too much effort from non-aces like me to get what he had.

I look forward to hearing about your successes using Glade.

Regards,
Kent
