conjecture for RT-PREEMPT: since the "RT" threads are just Posix threads, and 
the kernel is a bit massaged RT-wise I _think_ those threads should show up in 
top/ps

what we could do in RTAPI/rt-preempt is to log the thread ID as they are 
started by threads or motion which should enable firmer correlation between HAL 
thread name and what is RT and what isnt; I'll look into this, should be trivial

for RTAI I can offer no clues
