Fleabay, $153 & change, 2 R8-ER32 adaptors, and a 2 to 20mm set of collets. Over a 20 dollar bill for shipping on the adaptors, ouch. Thinking about it. In the meantime, the 2nd pair of 1Gb memory modules walked up and rang the doorbell just before we went to have dinner, so now they are in the machine and memtest86+ is sniffing at them... Which disclosed another, possibly a bios related problem, but when using a ps2 keyboard, its dead so I could not down arrow to get to the memtest86 line. Had to plug in a USB keyboard. But it works in the bios, and it works once grub has called the first vmlinuz. I'll check the bios settings again after memtest86+ has run 2 full cycles. Later, when I am convinced I have good memory (in the machine) Thanks Andy. Cheers, Gene Heskett -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
