My contention (see http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg15454.html) is that: 1) the mini gui does not work with distros using tk8.6. 2) keystick does not work correctly in at least some of the distro/kernel combinations with LinuxCNC2.7 that i tested. So _no_ development on a joints_axes branch is required to fix them. If someone fixes them, adapting to joints_axes is a separate problem. After wasting another day working on these guis, i think that: 1) the mini gui tk8.6 failure is due to more complete checking of geometry management in tk8.6 and i have a simple fix that seems to work. 2) There is not much documentation on usage and i have never used keystick, so it may be possible that i just don't know how to use it and/or the problems are specific to setups for keyboard repeats (although i have not changed default settings using jessie/xfce/uspace nor lucid/rtai). It would be helpful if some testers would try the keystick sim config: configs/sim/low_graphics/keystick.ini and test incremental and continuous jogging and report results along with the distro/kernel/LinuxCNC_version It is curious that there is more interest in two seldom-used guis than there is in the long-envisaged joints_axes updates. -- Dewey Garrett ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Emc-developers mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-developers
