Greetings everybody;

In the various .ngc files that clicking on this button or that button
runs, I fail to understand just exactly how the CamOn and CamOff
buttons, which run the similarly named ngc scripts, are actually
supposed to work.

The camon script launched by checkbutton1 in the .xml file, sends a
trigger to both the ForOn and ForOff functions with the end result being
that the machine moves (I think) to put the camera dead on the witness
mark just made with a v bit engraving tool. But since the same script
also triggers the ForOff timer, while the CamOff trips only the ForOff
timer. So the machine runs to the offset in tool pocket 99, and runs
immediately back to where it started from, making it impossible to
complete the rest of the calibration. Similar confusion is generated by
the do-nothing CamOff button since the machine is already there.

So, it seems to me the CamOff button isn't needed at all by making hal
steer it to toggle it to the opposite state, tallying the state by the
color of the CamOn button. That I can do I believe.

Am I even in the same ballpark? The lack of docs for how this is all
supposed to work is not helping a bit.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
