As you probaby know, I was extremely vocal about the status of decent video on the arm stuff on that list over that last 2 weeks or so. I and several others pointed out that one of the platforms they were condeming to very slow, framebuffer based video forever was the millions of pi users. They were unaware that that many pi's had been sold (estimates are above 12 million) so they did reconsider to the limits of the debian bible. The problem is two fold, one being debians stance against proprietary blobs, meaning broadcom, whose video and gpio stuff is in all of these tiny arm boards, is not co-operating. The other is an amazingly small debian team of only 3 people to try and maintain what they have. And since those all like to eat, gas the car and pay the mortgage, they have $dayjobs too. So it boils down to TANSTAAFL.
