Greetings Peter;

I think I have the G0704 running now, so I've scribbled labels beside the
sockets, and dymo labeled the cables & put the box together. So when the
fixed 7i76 gets back, and I get a couple more sainsmart bobs, and put
that special 5i25 bitfile you made me (athough I may not need it for the
6040)

The question arises in interfacing to this vfd in the 6040, if I use 12
to 13 volt field power, and bring the analog +- back from the vfd, can I
use the 10 or 12 volts supplied by the vfd for the dummy pots
connections, and get a full control range? Or do I still have to figure
out how to make a 10 swing voltage pwm to feed the dummy pots input.

Having run into the 5 volt pulse train isn't enough when fed directly to
the vfd I need to clarify how that works. Spinout on the G0704, shows
the value fed to the pwmgen.0.value input with a halmeter with 45.8
representing a 99% duty cycle with the pwm scale used. That runs the
G0704's spindle wide open at 3k revs in high gear. Will that run the vfd
wide open in the 6040?

If it works w/o another good bob for p2, I'll have enough i/o in the 7i76
to run things w/o the extra bob on the 5i25's p2. The only potential
problem is the probeing which I usually setup as detecting a short to
ground, which a pullup R will fix.

Thanks Peter.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
