Many use Tormach style (TTS) tool holders in R8 collets. I find that they
typically repeat to +/-0.001 or so. Not perfect but cheap and adaptable to
most any machine that can take a 3/4-inch R8 collet and with a flat spindle
nose 1.5-inch or more in diameter.
