Greetings all; I am still looking for a little help in rigid tapping.
Since the GO704 can only muster around 2 hp in its current drive configuration, its often that I have to write a peck routine where each peck goes just a fraction of a turn farther until the tap is deep enough. But something is displacing it vertically just enough to make noticeably sloppy fitting threads. My thoughts keep coming back to the fact that the ats-667 reverses the order of its transistions depending on which direction the spindle is turning, giving a first "cocking pulse" while still a few degrees away from what should be the real pulse as the screw being sensed approaches the ats-667, then a second pulse that should be the true index as it occurs maybe +- .1 degrees to the exact center of the pole crossing. So, how can I program an edge detector to automaticly select only the 2nd, real edge, when the polarity of the edge is determined by the direction. Can I switch the wanted edge input fast enough from the encoders own dir output to make it work by the proper addf ordering? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
