You will find the reference in the "Whereas..." sections of the Council
Directive of 29 April 1991....(91/263/EEC). I quote just a part of it;
it's the 13th "Whereas.." paragraph, but not necessarily the last word!
"...whereas it is, however, appropriate to delete the provisions
of Directive 89/336/EEC in so far as they refer to the definition
of telecommunications terminal equipment and to the conformity
assessment procedures to be applied for such equipment;..."
(And you never thought that reading these "whereasses" was so important?!)

According to the 93/68/EEC that I have, 91/263/EEC was amended primarily for
CE marking and other minor here-to's and where-for's as was also done for
the other 11 directives 93/68/EEC amended.
To my knowledge, 93/68/EEC did not supercede any directives. In fact,
91/263/EEC was in effect for about 2 years before 93/68/EEC was even made
official.
