Hi Folks

I have read, and generally concurr with, Scott Douglas' and Richard Woods
comments re EN50116.

However, I would also comment further on RW's suggestion that EN50116 tests may
only be required if you have an external agency certification on your product:
- If you do have this certification then you have the backing of that agency if
case of trouble/dispute etc.

- However, if you don't have external certification then the onnus is far more
on your company to do "do everything to get it right", and thus the "legal
pressure" to apply such tests could be considered to be far higher!

Additionally, as a point of interest, I would draw your attention to
EN60065-1998, Annex N "Routine Tests", which contains a much wider set of tests
and criteria to consider including in such a routine procedure - including a
number of visual checks which I consider to be very sensible and very much
along my own lines of thought (based on quite a few years in this business!).

(The above opinions and comments are my own and should not be interpreted as
necessarily being those of my company.)

Subject: EN 60950 productionline test

Dear groupe,

For a year ago I got a standard under the LVD which called for a
productionline test with HV test and earth test. I have now lost that
information and would like if someone can help me with the number and name
of the standard, it addresses IEC 950 equipment.

Best regards,

Mr. Kim Boll Jensen
