I read in !emc-pstc that Helge Knudsen <h.knud...@niros.com> wrote (in <e84b3b17b051c048b2a7fff6f8b49ddd149...@mail2.daniro.dk>) about 'SV: Poland' on Wed, 18 Dec 2002: >John maybe right about you shall avoid use of EN 50178 from Cenelec if you >can, but it is on the EU harmonisation list for the Low Voltage Directive,
I know that. I don't know why the CENELEC BT ever agreed to forward it to the Commission. but I can guess, and the key word begins with 'P' and ends with 'olitics'. Anyone who relies on it as a safety standard had better get insurance against 'unlawful killing' charges under EU health and safety legislation, which does not take 'standards' into account. My advice stands; if at all possible have NOTHING to do with EN50178. -- Regards, John Woodgate, OOO - Own Opinions Only. http://www.jmwa.demon.co.uk Interested in professional sound reinforcement and distribution?
