RE, our recent discussions on unit prefixes: I ran across a standard in my stash, IEC60027-1, Letter Symbols to be Used in Electrical Technology is another reference for this topic. The base standard is dated 1992, with Amendment 1 dated 1997. The IEC web site identifies four dash standards, the others being:
