Hi George & George, Actually it is not too difficult. The reason is that all of the components and materials are, or should be, UL Recognized to start with. The first thing is to buy the standard, UL 1571 or UL 1570. It will be advantageous to standardize as much of the design as possible.
With the information about components, materials, and design, at hand contact UL (or CSA). The closest is probably in Camas WA. I know this already seems like more trouble than you wanted. However there is no easier way that I know of.
