and it comes pre-calibrated.

I built one myself a number of years ago and the only problem with it was
frequency drift. It was very simple. It used a 74123 one shot to establish a
repetitive pulse, and then fed the pulse to a fast Schmitt trigger (fastest
logic family available to me). The Schmitt trigger had all outputs tied
together and they drove the stub antenna. To get more output at the low end,
I used a collapsible rod which was extended at low frequencies.

The 74123 was configured to support several different rep rates. There was
something like 1 MHz or slower so that I got good frequency coverage at 30
MHz, and as fast as 5 MHz or maybe higher to get extended harmonic amplitude
near 1 GHz.

I used batteries and a voltage regulator to feed a constant Vcc to the logic,
and had an LED that would light if the battery potential started to approach
the voltage regulator output. As I recall, it could run a whole day without
requiring new batteries.

Hello all,

I am searching for small package comb generator with amplitude calibrated
output. Any resources you can give me are much appreciated. I will even
entertain the idea of constructing one.

best regards,

-doug
