Sorry guys, I think I might have miss out the mailing list. I am sending this out again because it seem to me that the email address <emc-p...@ieee.org> is not an 'alias' (the same as) of <emc-p...@majordomo.ieee.org>. Many appologies. Tim Foo
04/28/03 01:50 PM To: tkrze...@genius.org.br, ieee pstc list <emc-p...@ieee.org> < headers snip off > Thomas and all, There is a list of EMC design rules/guidelines/check-list that was complied several years ago. You may want to look at it. 'A Summary of PCB design rules relating to EMC' , (131 k b) ...., Rules and Guidelines .... http://www.geocities.com/timfoo6143/Design_Rules.pdf There is one thing to add. The design objectives for SI are not fully 'compatible' with EMC. Some things done for EMC 'may' be detrimental to SI and vice versa. Note that having been around an IEC TC, I really meant to say 'may' so that also means that certain design rules for EMC 'may not' have any effect on SI. :-) Just my 2 ยข worth. About a month ago we had a meeting in Singapore on a related theme. If you are interested in EMC and SI read Dr Cheung-Wei Lam's notes on " Signal Integrity Design versus Radiated Emission Control". The slides (430kB) are now available for download. http://www.geocities.com/timfoo6143/SI_vs_EMI.pdf OR when there are access problems to the above 2 URLs, navigate from http://www.geocities.com/timfoo6143/ The link to the list of design rules are somewhere in the bottom of this page. Dr Lam's notes are archived under "announcements and related materials of the IEEE EMC Society (EMCS) Singapore". The link is at the top of the page. cheers, Tim Foo This message is from the IEEE EMC Society Product Safety Technical Committee emc-pstc discussion list.
