Sorry to disagee but you have made a remarkable leap of faith. You have
assumed that it will not be intended for other than a commercial/light
industrial environment. This is where the problems arise for Test Houses
giving advice, it is not just the product but the intended environment as
well. What if it is to form part of a PLC on a chemical site or in a rolling
mill or even on the railway.  There is no cut and dried answer, product
specific is not necessarily the answer.  I have told my
suppliers/manufacturers what their environment is and what tests are required
only to have them come back and say they only need to meet the product
standard, the test house says so. Invariably I find when I talk to the test
house the manufacturer has not given the whole story. The final judgement is
the manufacturers to determine his market and then get the advice not make a
general enquiry.
