Martin & Anders,

A very comprehensive explanation !
I just like to add the following 2 points:
- If your ADSL product is connected to an analog telephone line supporting a
POTS service (ADSL over POTS), it shall also comply with AS/ACIF S002.
- AS/NZSCISPR22 may be replaced by EN55022 standards as published in the OJ.
(ref. mail K. Richardson Sept. 8th, 2003), thus also the 1994 version (that
equals the obsolete AS/NZS3548).

Hi Anders,

A product that incorporates 802.11b with ADSL falls under ACA's
radiocommunications devices (compliance labelling) notice 2003 and
Telecommunications Labelling (Customer Equipment and Customer Cabling) Notice
2001 respectively.

On the RF side, a ETS 300 328 report will be sufficient as evidence of
compliance for 802.11b, as your product falls under the Spread spectrum
Devices Class Licence, which can be found and described here
<http://www.aca.gov.au/aca_home/publications/reports/info/spreadsp.htm>
http://www.aca.gov.au/aca_home/publications/reports/info/spreadsp.htm. From
December 2004, a new standard known as Radiocommunications (Data Transmission
Equipment Using Spread Spectrum Modulation Techniques) Standard 2003 is
enforced. A copy is here <http://www.a
a.gov.au/aca_home/legislation/standards/radspread_03.rtf> for your reference.
Per the Schedule 3, spread spectrum devices under the new standard are
compliance level 2.

802.11g devices fall under the Radiocommunications (Low Interference Potential
Devices) Class Licence 2000. This allows for digital modulation transmitters
in the 2.4-2.4835GHz band to operate up to a max EIRP of 4W. A copy of the
LIPD class licence can be found here ht
p://www.aca.gov.au/aca_home/legislation/radcomm/class_licences/lipd.htm

For the ADSL portion, the applicable standards are AS/NZS60950 (safety),
AS/ACIF S043 (ADSL) and AS/NZSCISPR22 (EMC emissions).

Hope this helps.

Best Regards,
Martin.
