I have never heard of a production line ESD test. One might guess OSHA might be all over such a test since the safety requirements are very different between the test lab and the production line.
As a consultant I learned a long time ago that ESD and EMI susceptibility problems often go hand in hand. I'm also a ham and as such I have a 2M HT that fits in my pocket. For a quick test for EMI susceptibility I would place the rubber ducky antenna beside the UUT and transmit. UUTs failing this test would always fail ESD too. I would think a quick burst of RF from a white noise jammer would do the same thing. Thinking outside the box...
