Carry out a risk assessment which should be able to demonstrate the unit
is safe, complies with lvd/machinery/emc and any other applicable
directive. You maybe need to have an "internal unit" design guide
policy.

Hi to all,

This is a UK - possibly EU - question.

In the UK we have the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
that requires a person who provides or controls equipment used at work
to comply with the regulations.

The regulations require that equipment provided for use at work must
comply with legislation implementing any EC directives on CE marking, be
constructed or adapted so as to be suitable for the work undertaken...
etc..  such that the operator is not put at risk.

So - what is the UK Industry Best Practice (IBP) for the supply and use
of equipment that is designed, constructed and used "in house". The type
of thing I am meaning is the special power supply, the I/O indicator,
the custom test rig, that is built to support the design and development
of the product. It might be a 10 minute build, or a ten week build.

If some things are not worth certifying against applicable directives,
how is PUWER complied with?

What do the other EU / Other nations do in this respect?
