The question, as stated, cannot be answered.

Conditions of acceptability published by the cable mfr ?

Requirements of enviroment for the cable installation ?

If the agency report and the issued certification/recognition specifies
"tri-rated" as construction requirement, then any other construction is
non-conforming.

luck,
Brian

Yes I read the message. Much as I'd like to believe I know it all I don't so I
didn't reply.

Subject: Tri rated cable

All
Does anyone know the detail of the differences between the
three standards that combine allow a cable to be defined as
"tri-rated"?
We currently spec a "tri-rated" cable in our design but at
this time only a UL1015 cable is available to us. Thus I am
particularly interested in learning how "far away" a UL1015
specified cable is from a "tri-rated" one.
Would the electrical safety (i.e. EN61010 compliance) of our
products be compromised by the substitution of a UL1015 cable
for a "tri-rated" one?
Any help is appreciated.

Ian Gordon
