Thanks, Tom.  It's interesting that the 2001 edition did not have that note.


I believe that it just means that the current edition of the referenced
standard was used, at the time the standard with Annex ZA was published,
rather than a previous edition.

As you are aware, the first paragraph in the Annex ZA describes the rule to
be followed.

An example I found is EN 61000-6-2:2005, its Annex ZA includes reference
like:

  Publication    Year    Title                                EN/HD
Year
  -------------  ------  -----------------------------------  ------------

  IEC 61000-4-2  - 1)    Electromagnetic compativility....    EN 61000-4-2
1995 2)
  ...

  1) Undated reference.
  2) Valid edition at date of issue.
