Ian,

My experience of finding the correct and definitive information about the use
of the FCC Logo vs "The FCC Statement" is NOT "crystal clear".
After looking into several difference references , I have come to the following
conclusions.

A) FCC LOGO is NOT used for VERIFICATION !

B) FCC LOGO IS USED FOR CERTIFICATION

C) Regardless of  Class A( Commercial )  or B ( Residential ) Compliance , if
it was tested for Verification then the product should have the FCC Statement
affixed to it.

D) If the area on the label or the product is too small to place the statement
on the product this statement needs to be placed in the manual

E) The differences between Verification and Certification is that with
Certification test results are sent to the FCC and retained there.

Subject: FCC labelling

Dear Colleagues;

Our products are modular digital audio mixers for professional use. The
customer can purchase a basic system and at a later stage purchase extra
modules to expand the system.

The modules are 19” rack cards with a metal front panel and a PCB assembly
fixed to it. The modules plug into a backplane for power and signal bussing.

We normally use the verification route to FCC compliance and label the basic
system accordingly.

My question is about the FCC labelling of the modules purchased at a later
stage.

Am I allowed to use the FCC logo on the label we attach to the module? This
label will be self adhesive printed paper.

When reading the part 15 of the FCC regulations it stated that the label must
not be confused with an FCC ident label. Therefore; does this preclude the use
of the FCC logo.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Regards;

Ian McBurney.
