Hi Marko: It is my impression that the exemption for telecom network infrastructure equipment will remain in place for a VERY LONG time. Network operators are very concerned about long term reliability, and there is just too much uncertainty about the lead-free solders for the network operators to stop resisting them. I suppose that political forces could eventually override the network operators, but I think the operators themselves are likely to remain uncomfortable with lead-free solder for many years to come.
