A customer who manufactures a home appliance (rather unique) tests it to
UL570 for the USA and EN60335-1 for the EU.

I understand that they have been able to export it to other countries if
a surge protector approved to UL 1449 with a 330V and 700 joule rating
was required for installation (I don't know the details of this).

The unit is approved for radiated emissions and immunity to Australian
standards.

Is the EN 60335-1 standard appropriate for export to Australia? If not,
what other approach should they take? Thanks!

Curt
