Richard,

I believe that went away quite a while ago when France finally
adopted use of the entire 2.4 GHz band (the high end was being used by their
military), and therefore EN 300 328 became a harmonized standard under the
R&TTE Directive. There are some power, and indoor / usage limitations,
however any limitations are typically called out in ERO/ERC Recommendation
70-03 at www.ero.dk under recommendations to get the latest copy.

Just one clarification, although the lab can issue a DoC, it really
has no merit, and it is the responsibility of the manufacturer to issue the
DoC. The certificate or DoC is just a nice to have, you really just need
their test reports showing that all standards have been applied under the
directive(s) in full.

Subject: EU wireless registration

All,

I have a test lab that is telling me that for an 802.11 b/g device that they
do not need to be registered in the EU member states. The ETSI reports have
been done and the lab has issued a declaration of conformity. Last I was
aware was there had to be registration is each member state and many of the
could be done on line. Can any one confirm or deny this.

Thanks you for your opinions.
