Pre-screens that attempt to minimize consumption of a candidates' time is a good thing. Reminds me of back around 1994, when I interviewed at a now World-famous company for a position as an EMC engineer. I spent a very long day talking with 5 engineering groups, each of which had classic problems (shielding effectiveness, internal coupling, export compliance, CE & RE). While I can't say I fixed every problem, I was able to set each group on a righteous path to their goal. And a few days later, their HR droid told me that, on reflection, they now thought they didn't really need a full-time in-house EMC guy. So that's how they were so profitable! The best compliance-related questions that have been posited to me follow: 4. 'Do you prefer Agilent or R/S? Why?' Hey, don't diss the Anritsu & Thurlby guys!
