I too have been wondering about this. It would make sense that you should just use harmonized standards from the LVD and EMCD to satisfy the safety and EMC aspects for a piece of ITE with a radio in it under RED, but I could not find anything to that effect in the Directive. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me to completely replicate the harmonized standards lists from LVD and EMCD into the RED harmonized standards list.
Deviating slightly, I have not compared EN 301 489 to EN 55022/24 myself, but for an ITE with Bluetooth is 489 enough or is 22/24 expected as well? Now the HS list is empty and the manufacturer is allowed whatever standards that they consider appropriate.
