It would help to know the chamber’s purpose: qualification to which standards
will occur in the chamber.

Regardless of that, I like a control chamber on the opposite side of the
bulkhead feedthrough panel(s).

A feature unique (AFAIK) to my chambers (due to my poor carpentry skills) is
that the entry way to the test chamber is through the control chamber. That
allows two doors to provide the necessary shielding effectiveness, instead of
requiring all the SE from a single door. You may be able to get by with lesser
doors that way.

Subject: [PSES] Design a chamber from scratch- what are your top 5 features?

Good morning.

I have the opportunity to design an EMI chamber from scratch. I'm
generating a list of all my loved features, and hated features.

Here are a couple that come to mind.

Loved: abundance of overhead lighting

Hated: lighting only with flood lights in upper corners

Loved: replaceable bulkhead passthrough panel

Hated: all of the bulkhead panels at ankle height

If you were building, what is your love/hate feature list?

(spoiler alert- I will copy your ideas into my design!)

Many thanks !

Patrick.
