Jon - Thanks for the response, I know how to run emc and halscope from the command line, I was specifically referring to the process of logging the data in either halscope or some other way, I don't think that part is quite working yet, or I could be mistaken.
What I am trying to do is outlined here: http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emcinfo.pl?PWM_Servo_Amplifiers I think that article is written by you ? I could not get the emclog.tcl script to work in ver 2.0.5, I am running Ubuntu and have all the necessary packages installed. -Ali --- Jon Elson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > ali sayed wrote: > > >Hi all - > > > >A few days ago I posted a message asking for some > >pointers regarding PID tuning with EMC2, I still > can't > >seem to figure out what the best approach is. > > > >I know the logging in Halscope is not yet done > > > Umm, Halscope has worked for several years > (although improvements > are still being added). > > First, you have to run EMC from a command (or > terminal) window, like this : > > scripts/emc & > > The "&" gives you the prompt back, so you can run > another command from the > same parent process.
