Since machine control over parport and printing on parport are
mutually incompatible, the EMC2 package disables parport printing
using the file /etc/modprobe.d/emc2.  Printing over USB is not
affected.

If you prefer to have parport printing (say you have a servo motion
control card that doesn't use parport), you can comment out the line
in that file.  EMC2 will work fine except the hal_parport module will
refuse to load.
