i installed emc2 using the script for the dapper system from the linuxcnc.org website. i did not notice any errors but after i rebooted, my printer quit working and neither parport0 or parport1 were listed in /proc/ioports. i completely removed emc2 and reinstalled cupsys. the printer works again and parport0 and parport1 are listed in /proc/ioports, as i expect.
