I have tried boot options pci=noacpi    BOOT_DEBUG=2|3  DEBCONF_DEBUG=5
and just adding noacpi    all with apparently no change in response 
except possibly a screen that flashes by to fast to read.

I put these before the -- at the end of the boot line.

More suggestions??
