Thanks for all your help so far. I've found the Tcl/Tk info and feel 
comfortable in 
editing the tkemc.tcl file to suit my needs. I made a copy but Liunx will not 
allow me 
to edit the original file. It says it belongs to "root". I tried loggin on as 
"root" but did 
not know the password. When I installed EMC2 Live CD is based on Ubuntu it 
didn't 
prompt me for any password for "root". 

So how do I edit the tkemc.tcl file?

I'm sorry if this is more of a Linux question than an EMC2 question.
