:-) Yes, I would say the PacSCI is overkill there... When we get to that stage you can be a beta tester if you like, of course it may explode in your face... > > Will I need a controller card for each amp? Do you have more information > on your website? No info yet, Just getting first cards made now. The controller is 1 Axis so you need one per drive. There may be something I can do with a cheap FPGA card like the 7I43 to make it a 4 or 8 axis standalone controller (no host interface just step/dir or PWM/DIR in and Serial out). Another option is to use a 5I20/5I22/5I23 as the interface and EMC as the controller. This would require a FPGA card configuration with quadrature in and UART interface out, requiring a driver that supports this configuration. This may not be as bad as it sounds as we already have a 32 bit wide interface UART config for 5I20/5I21/5I22/5I23 so the outgoing packet is a single doubleword write. > -- > Kirk Wallace (California, USA > http://www.wallacecompany.com/machine_shop/ > Hardinge HNC lathe > Bridgeport mill conversion pending > Zubal lathe conversion pending) > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. > Still grepping through log files to find problems?
