Greetings,
I am hoping to re-assemble and update my Sherline system and exhibit it
once again. According to the bootup message, it's been 870 days since I
last fired it up. I've had a few little life changes since then (marriage,
kid, 2 moves, bought my first house) and am hoping against all odds to have
a functional system by Cabin Fever time.
I used to hand out little aluminum "worrystones" with an ovalized conic
spiral plunged into 1" x 3/8" aluminum, with a 3/16 ball end mill. Something
that maybe looks cool to the kids, and impresses the older gents which
quickly
realize "you can't do *THAT* spinning the handwheels!"
Even if I can't get the circa 1977 Sherline motor rebuilt in time to cut
chips, I can still make the steppers spin for folks.
