If you want to learn about EMC, or talk in depth with the
developers of EMC2, or have a portable system you want to
configure with EMC2 and get the wrinkles out, then the CNC
Workshop in Illinois is definitely your best bet. It was
totally amazing to find a glitch in my implementation of EMC2
using my boards, walk 15 feet to where John Kasunich, Chris
Radek and Jeff Eppler, among others, were sitting, describe the
problem, and have a fix within minutes. Sometimes it was a
problem in my driver, or the way I was doing things, but the
interactive work on these fixes was incredibly productive!

On the other hand, if you want to talk to people building models
and small engines, then Cabin Fever or the NAMES show in Toledo
might be more to your liking. I have not attended Cabin Fever,
but I've been to several NAMES shows, and that is totally
incredible. I am not into the modelling scene, but I can sure
understand the effort that goes into these things, and
appreciate the beauty of these incredible gems.
