Pinging it _with_ the http is NOT going to work. You ping hosts, not services. "http://" is a URL, not a hostname. Paul has been around long enough to be well aware of that. Hint - try "ping http://google.com", and then try "ping google.com" It's not google's fault that the former doesn't work. (I just tried both.) Clicking on the link I posted (with the http) will get you the web based CVS browser. I know that works. I don't know if Paul tried it or not. Pinging cvs.linuxcnc.org (without the http://) will get you the host that is running both the web cvs and the regular cvs. I don't know if Paul tried that. Pinging _with_ the http:// is doomed to fail, which I'm sure Paul already knew.
