The edge must be sharp, like it will shave the hairs from your arm sharp and a

I'm with Les here .160" cut is nothing on delrin unless you have a thin wall.

Melting is too high SFM or dull either one makes heat and heat melts. I would 
guess 
dull edge.

You can always get 1/2" shank tooling and machine the shank to fit your turrent.
