My 6.06 install runs nicely on a PIII 660MHz but I had to add memory upping it
to 384mb for reasonable latency results. I've also had it running on a Pentium
(the first class...) but never actually ran it, just tested the interface and
got familiar with it.
Are you getting an error message on the crash or just lockup? Onboard or
separate video card? If you have a junk box try swapping some different
hardware into the setup. You are installing it from the LiveCD ISO from the
emc linux homepage not from a combination of Ubuntu and then compiling emc
right?

I have been playing with emc2 on a home built router for a few weeks now and
want my good computer back.
I have an old pentium II 333Mhz 192M ram with Mepis lite installed on it I
