An R2E3 uses Contraves NC400 servo amps, and they accept +/- 10 V 
velocity command signals
from the controller.  These could be saved.  I have ALMOST enough info 
here to advise, but I don't have quite enough details of the
enable and fault signals.  You would need one of the servo interfaces 
that have analog output.  (Pico Systems PPMC or the
Mesa board.)  Another choice is to replace the servo amps and use 
something like my Universal PWM Controller and PWM servo amps.

The motors are most likely to be by SEM, and are VERY good.
