This is why the ilowpass component was made - it works great. > I am planning on having the mpg and two buttons mounted in a pendant. > One button to toggle the three scale values, another to toggle through > the enable for each axis and none. Through long painful experience using a machine that has a lot of buttons like that, where you have to look at a display while madly stabbing the button repeatedly until the display says what you want, I've come to the firm conclusion that it ... sucks. Much better is a control that you can manipulate without looking. In this case (X->Y->Z) it almost fools you into thinking so, but just often enough you will get a double press and jog the wrong thing, to make you interrupt yourself and look every time. On my lathe I'm going to go so far as to put two jogwheels on it. For increment, I have a two position rotary switch that also presses in. The two main positions will be .001 and .0001, and pressing it in (which is momentary) will give .01 for a fast motion. I expect that I will be able to operate that reliably and safely without looking at it. I'll let you know (it's not done yet!)
