Hello all, I have just now gotten my mill up and running, and am trying to optimize the motion and speed of the motors.
Has anyone used a CMD-50 driver from API? I have the manual, but the only timing info it has is: DRIVE TYPE .............................. 2 phase, bipolar, constant current, MOSFET chopper, 20 KHz fixed. RESOLUTIONS .......................... 200 and 400. POWER Inputs ........................................ 15-40 VDC, +5VDC for Logic 100mA min. Output ....................................... 0.3-3.5 amps/phase. LOGIC INPUTS Type .......................................... TTL compatible. Need to sink 15mA. Step ........................................... Square wave - 10μS minimum width. Step on trailing edge. Optically isolated. Direction .................................... CW/CCW. Optically isolated. Step Mode ................................. HALF/FULL. Optically isolated. No Power .................................. ENA/NOPWR. Current Mode ............................ CIRCULATING/NON-CIRCULATING. Reset ......................................... NORMAL/RESET. Optically Isolated. I am driving 1.4A 4.5v 2deg steppers with 16-19.5 v p/s Currently the best motion I am getting is .1 in/sec, with losing steps at anything above .2 in/sec Any help would be appreciated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Enter the BlackBerry Developer Challenge This is your chance to win up to $100,000 in prizes!
