Gene I think you may be right about that. I thought that I went into a file that was downloaded with emc . I will try to get the computer on line and try your way. The computer is not connected to the internet right now because it was a older computer and I was only going to use it to run the lathe. I downloaded emc off of a cd. Thanks Ron

Please use the web browser on the linux box that emc is installed on to go get that file. I think it will solve your problem. Windows downloads tend to make windows compatible line end conversions if the file is a text file, and gcode properly is text, and that conversion by adding the carriage returns to the line feeds that linux (and any unix) doesn't need but windows does, and does not play well on a linux box.
